BUSINESS THEATRE IN ENGLISH (corso aziendale)
What is business theatre
A methodology developed in Britain and widely used in Canada
and the United States to train excellence in the work force.
The style we use is inspired by the research of Augusto Boal,
the techniques used by government-recognised dramatherapists
in Britain and theatre sports.
We can:
- Communicate on all levels, including non-verbally
- Use emotions and handle them safely
- Deal with interpersonal issues
- Help people adapt to change or face up to fears
Why use business theatre?
Because working with theatre is quick and effective. Problems
that only emerge after months of discussion are immediately
obvious if put on stage. Possible solutions can be tried out
in a safe situation and confidentiality can be preserved by
the use of metaphor.
Where would one use business theatre?
The method is very flexible but examples could be:- Identifying
or diagnosing problems
- Problem solving
- Conflict management
- Motivation
- Building working relationships
- Training and facilitating communication
- Confronting change
With whom?- A team which has problems
- New teams
- Existing teams which must fuse and work together
- Management as a group
- Personnel facing changes
How might it work?
A group goes away for two days to a residential setting. A
good working number would be 16 clients but we can cope with
up to 20 by dividing them into two groups. More people than
that and we would need a third trainer.
Timetable 10.00 - 13.00, 14.30 -18.00, 21.00 - 22.30
9.00 - 12.00, 14.00 - 17.00
Then after a month there is a follow-up day to:
- Re-enforce and consolidate work done
- Check on progress of personal plans
- Deepen motivation
